On October 18, 2024, the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Banja Luka had the honor of hosting Roberto Bolli, MD PhD, a distinguished university professor from the University of Louisville, Kentucky.
Professor Bolli, a specialist in cardiology, delivered a lecture on “Cell Therapy for Heart Failure,” where he shared his extensive knowledge on cell therapies and their potential in treating heart failure.
Prof. Dr. Roberto Bolli graduated from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 1976. After completing a research fellowship at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), he continued his career in cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine and later served as the Chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Louisville.
With over 490 published papers and numerous awards, including the NIH MERIT Award and the Distinguished Scientist Award from the American Heart Association, Professor Bolli is a prominent figure in cardiovascular research. His work on the mechanisms of heart injury and cell therapy has changed the understanding of cardiological treatments.
