Nostrification

Applicants to the Study programme of Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Banja Luka, who have obtained their high school diploma abroad, must have their diploma recognized in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nostrification and equivalency is the procedure of recognizing a primary or secondary school diploma or certificates of a completed primary or secondary school grade abroad. The right to initiate the procedure for nostrification or recognition of equivalence of a foreign school diploma is held by a citizen of the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina who has graduated or finished a grade abroad, as well as foreign citizens and a stateless person if they have a legal interest.

The following application form (see application form) must be filled out and sent to international.students@med.unibl.org.

The documents required, with the application form, are:

  • a certified copy of the diploma
  • a certified copy of a certificate for all the grades completed in a foreign country or other school document (a report card)
  • translation by a certified interpreter
