The Faculty of Medicine offers four study programmes in English: Medicine, Dental Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing.
The integrated graduate academic study in Medicine is performed through 58 compulsory courses, elective courses and diploma work. After 6 academic years the student receives the academic title of Doctor of Medicine and 360 ECTS.

During the first years of study, basic biomedical courses are taught in order to learn about the structure, organization and function of organs, organ systems and humans, which allows the students to enter the world of clinical medicine easier. The teaching process consists of lectures, a large number of mandatory exercises, seminars and consultations.

Graduate academic studies (integrated study) in Dental Medicine last for six academic years, and the lectures consist of basic and elective courses. The Dental Medicine Study Programme yields the educational profile DOCTOR OF DENTAL MEDICINE – 360 ECTS. During the first semesters, students are expected to gain knowledge in basic natural sciences (which are significant for the Dental Medicine studies) and basic medical sciences, while the lectures during the senior years of study are more oriented towards professional and professional-applied courses in dental medicine. In the 11th and 12th semester, professional practice is conducted through block teaching, necessary for future professional work, as well as preparation for the final thesis.

Graduate academic studies (integrated study) in Pharmacy last for five academic years, and the lectures consist of basic and elective courses. The Pharmacy Study Programme yields the educational profile MASTER OF PHARMACY – 300 ECTS. During the first 4 semesters, students are expected to gain knowledge in basic natural sciences (which are significant for the Pharmacy studies) and basic medical sciences, while the lectures during the senior years of study are oriented towards pharmaceutical professional and professional-applied courses, as well as courses in the field of social pharmacy. In the 9th and 10th semester, the preparation of the final thesis and professional student internship are planned, which are necessary for future professional work of students.

Graduate academic studies in Nursing last for four academic years. The programme consists of basic courses and is performed through a total of 45 mandatory courses (with the final thesis). The Nursing Study Programme yields the educational profile BACHELOR OF NURSING – 240 ECTS. The Nursing Programme enables students to gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills through basic, medical, health and specific professional teaching content, as well as gaining knowledge in IT, research, problem solving and decision-making in health care teams. The nursing profession is constantly evolving and becoming more challenging.

The study programme at the Faculty of Medicine is divided into two semesters. The autumn semester begins in October and the semester lasts for 15 weeks. At the end of each semester there are exam terms, as well as during July and September.
